On December 9, Devin Haney will fight his thirty-first career bout. To all intents and purposes, he wants to keep the record as it appears now, undefeated. Not to forget, a win opens up other prospects for the unified Lightweight champion. He will turn 25 in another seven days. If he decides to stay in the Light Welterweight division, then he might eventually end up in a headlong clash with Teófimo Lopez, the division’s WBO and The Ring Champion.
Otherwise, as he has done, Haney hasn’t shut the doors on the Lightweight division. But again, staying in the division would require a possible face-off with stalwarts such as Gervonta Davis, Shakur Stevenson, or Ryan Garcia. Speaking of which, to all appearances, it appears innocuous. But his usage of one of Davis’ nicknames, ‘The One’, invited several comments as he shared a few photographs of his training routine through the Instagram account.

Preparing for ‘Rougarou,’ training camp teasers from Devin Haney
Haney wrote, “The king…da one!” But some of the fans were familiar with Gervonta Davis’ nickname before ‘Tank’ became more popular. They took no time in chiding him for the allusion. However, loyal fans remained unfazed and encouraged their icon to stay on track. They sounded fairly confident that he would sail through on December 9.
Lauding Devin Haney’s dedication, this user mentioned that it is important to maintain year-round fitness as a professional requirement. They called out the former undisputed champion, saying that it was time that he grabbed another title belt after winding up the Regis Prograis business: “Staying in shape year round is part of being a professional/great way to go, my boy. Now time to go put another belt on after you whoop his a** with it.”

The following fan highlighted the presence of so many cynics. But despite that, Haney continues to soar high. The fan urged ‘The Dream’ to proceed; he’s got the December match in his bag:” So much haters, buh he keeps flying…go champ…you got this sh*t in.” But, unfortunately, the naysayers weren’t too far behind. This user pointed out that he outweighed Vasyl Lomachenko by 20 pounds. But the Ukrainian managed to teach him a lesson. Hence, under no circumstances, he could be ‘The One.’ The user said, “You got schooled by featherweight Loma, and you had over 20lbs on him. You not the one pillow fists.”
The next two users insisted on correcting the confusion that might have come out of Haney’s usage of the words – ‘Da One.’ The first user said that Devin Haney shouldn’t get the monikers twisted. While he is’ The Dream,’ Gervonta Davis remains ‘The One.’ They said, “You are “The Dream” bro, and Tank is “The One” so don’t confuse.” Also, this follower wrote that if Haney’s ‘Da One’ then he’s desperate to become the ‘Tank’ Gervonta Davis: ““Da one” bro really wants to be tank so bad.“
Whatever is said and done, most agree. Training is something Devin Haney takes very seriously.

A pivotal December clash
Many fans and pundits are looking forward to the December 9 bout at San Francisco’s Chase Center. The simple reason is that the outcome of the match has a cascading effect on two divisions. Devin Haney might enjoy a slight size advantage. However, that being said, in ‘Rougarou’ he meets probably his toughest challenge. With nearly 83% of his twenty-nine wins coming through knockouts, ‘The Dream’ will face an all-out hitter, as opposed to thoughtful, technical wizards such as Vasyl Lomachenko or George Kambosos Jr.
