By December last month, fans reported sightings of Errol Spence Jr. He started updating feeds on his Instagram account as well. But what about his great adversary? Since winning the July 29 fight, Terence Crawford has been making headlines for one reason or another. He has been active on social media as well.
But it was high time; already half of the new year’s first month is over. Probably, apart from the ring, fans wanted to see him at the place they loved the most—the gym. It seems like ‘Bud’ heard their innermost thoughts and didn’t want to keep them in suspense any longer. So an ecstatic Terence Crawford announced his gym return through an Instagram post early today. Fans couldn’t have asked for more. Apart from the likes, a stream of comments, some from known figures, has been pouring in since the post came alive.

‘Bud’ding Developments
Many of those who wrote today pointed out that Crawford could settle the business with Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis too. The welterweight division has been devoid of the much-vaunted fixture for some time now.
After defeating Errol Spence Jr. at the T-Mobile Arena last year, Terence Crawford expressed a keen interest in fighting either Jermell Charlo or Canelo Alvarez. Talks of a fight with Gervonta Davis also arose. However, the welterweight champion seems to have made it clear that a face-off with the lightweight champion, if it had to happen, would not occur below 147 pounds.

Thereafter, Canelo Alvarez inflicting a resounding defeat on the ‘Iron Man’ changed the equation. Doubts still persist about whether scaling up divisions for the third undisputed title would be a sensible decision or not. The fate of the rematch with Errol Spence Jr. appears equally doubtful.
Thus, with all the pieces spread out on a chess board, fans’ eagerness would be at an all-together new level. More so with him checking in at the gym.
Terence Crawford returns… with hair. Sorry, to the gym
Most of those who commented expressed their happiness over the big news. However, for quite a few, it was the champion’s latest hairdo that caught their attention.
FightHype was one of the first to respond. They mentioned that the champion’s new hair style resembled comedian-actor Katt Williams‘: “With the fresh Katt Williams perm.” But soon they received a reply from Claressa Shields. The legend stated that she was about to inquire about the Nebraskan’s hairstyle: “@fighthype I was bout to ask what’s going on with the hair lol.”
When the boxing channel took a potshot that it felt like the welterweight champion was about to go for a bare-it-all on boxing, champion Franchón Crews-Dezurn wrote, “@fighthype it’s giving tho.”
Then another fan thought that Crawford appeared like boxing legend Roberto Duran. “Lookin like Roberto Duran or sum,” the fans said. Then this follower took up the unified champion’s recent follow-up on the Green Bay Packers’ victory over the Dallas Cowboys. For the upcoming divisional round (January 21), the follower seemingly wished for the Packers to rout the San Francisco 49ers. “Man, bud, I be rooting for you, but your packers shouldn’t had done that to my cowboys….beat the 9ers for me,” they said.

Finally, this user probably felt like Terence Crawford was never out of the gym. In their strong opinion, the champion wouldn’t even have taken a single ounce of alcohol while on vacation. The user said, “Why are you acting like you really ever left the gym, bruh? lol. I bet you didn’t drink a single ounce of alcohol on vacation.”
Undoubtedly, many fans would have heaved a sigh of relief to see their icon resume training. But many would be curious to know what’s in store for him in the coming months. Alvarez reportedly will have two fights this year. One for May, and the next to occur in September. So if Benavidez takes up the autumn schedule, then could Crawford be in for a spring surprise? The weight still remains a concern.
