As the new year begins, Haney shared how he managed to fulfill all the goals he set last year.

Devin Haney looks back at his 2023 New Year’s resolutions

It appears that Devin Haney was mentally prepared for his bout against Lomachenko even before the year began. In fact, it turns out that it was even his New Year’s resolution. He took to Instagram to share a screenshot of his notes. On the top, the date when the note was made could be seen as January 2, 2023.

In the note he had written his New Year’s resolution, which read, “Devin Haney will beat Vasyl Lomachenko, then move up to 140 & become world champ again! With the power of Allah! Without Allah I can’t do it!” In the caption of the post he wrote, “MashAllah.. last years New Year Resolution Alhamdulillah.” Now, even though his victory against Loma remains a bit controversial, one cannot deny the power of his positive affirmation. It seems he has achieved in 2023 everything he had set his mind to. But what about the future?

Haney reveals his ambitious plan for the future

In a year filled with achievements, Devin Haney’s leap into the super-lightweight division stands out. The young boxer didn’t just enter; he dominated, defeating Regis Prograis for the WBC super-lightweight title. This victory raises an intriguing question: Is Devin Haney on track to be the fighter of the year? Actually, he didn’t. That recognition went to Terence Crawford. However, he did manage the runner-up position.

While many hail Haney’s 2023 accomplishments, he believes his impact stretches further. He confidently shared, “Ion care bout no fighter of the year ima b fighter of the decade.. InshaAllah.” That is where The Dream is looking ahead to.
