The biggest crossover event of the year is just days away. The last time boxing and MMA fans got to witness a grand fight between the two flagbearers of both sports was when Conor McGregor faced Floyd Mayweather inside the ring. Mayweather came out of retirement and secured a victory in the fight with a 10th-round TKO, maintaining his flawless record at 50-0. McGregor, considered an underdog by bookies, surprised many by demonstrating he wasn’t entirely out of his depth in a professional boxing match
Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury, the two Heavyweights will be locking horns on October 28 in Riyadh. Apparently, Ngannou has a better chance against Fury than the ‘Notorious’ did against Mayweather. Fury himself accepts this. Why does he think so?

Tyson Fury on Francis Ngannou’s punching abilities
‘The Predator’ holds the world record for the strongest punch. This is not to be taken lightly. Mike Tyson, who is also his current trainer has acknowledged his power and grit. Even Fury agrees that Ngannou holds the potential to severely injure his opponent. Ngannou is confident that he will be able to map this road just like he has done the rest. In a recent interview with Dev Sahni on Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions, Fury explains why.
“I think he does have because he’s got obviously knockout power power. This fellow is a big heavyweight, isn’t he? So, he detonates on your jaw, you’d be hurt. Whether he can finish a man or not, I have no idea. Here’s the thing, this man is supposed to be the hardest puncher in the history.” Said the ‘Gypsy King’ but also added that Ngannou lacks experience and not knowing how to set a punch up might render the force of the punch useless.
Will fans see the duo inside an octagon?
Recently, the WBC Heavyweight champion has hinted at stepping into the world of MMA, sparking excitement among fans. A few years back, the 35-year-old was spotted training wrestling with former UFC fighter Darren Till, indicating his interest in mixed martial arts. Just this summer, Jon Jones challenged him for an MMA bout, a proposal Tyson Fury didn’t dismiss outright.
