The fight against Edwin De Los Santos might have brought Shakur Stevenson some criticism, but discussions about who he will face next have already started. With an unblemished record, Stevenson clinched the vacant WBC world lightweight title with a unanimous decision win over De Los Santos. Stevenson, now boasting a remarkable 21-0 record with 10 knockouts, won his world title in the third weight division.

Fans have criticized both boxers for a lackluster performance. As fans start debating who Stevenson will target next, Tim Bradley, the former welterweight world champion, has his suggestion ready. Who is it that Bradley wants Stevenson to put to the test next?

Tim Bradley picks his side for a hypothetical Shakur Stevenson-Gervonta Davis match

“Tank’s the guy I wanna see Shakur fight next. However, I already know what is gonna be,” said Bradley speaking to the Fight Hub TV. However, there is a catch. According to Bradley, Gervonta Davis‘ team would come up with numerous excuses to not let the fight materialize. “They’re gonna say- well, look, you don’t sell out arenas, you don’t bring anything to the table, so why? They’re gonna say you gonna run all night. So, they gonna say everything they possibly can for the fight not to happen but I think the fight should happen,” predicted Tim Bradley.

Bradley also sided with Stevenson while predicting the victor. Holding Sugar’s defense supreme, the ‘Desert Storm’ bet on the 26-year-old. Though doubt crept in, considering Davis’ brutal attacks, he circled back to Stevenson. “I could be wrong. Tank is an animal. He can fight but he has yet to be in a ring with a guy that’s as smart as Shakur and a guy that’s on his IQ level. I still got Shakur, because defense, man,” said Bradley hailing Stevenson’s defense and IQ.

‘Sugar’ apologizes for his ‘bad performance’

The bout was labeled as lackluster, primarily due to Stevenson’s elusive fighting style failing to translate into an engaging match. Expressing remorse, Stevenson extended his apologies to boxing legends: Floyd Mayweather, Andre Ward, and Terence Crawford, all of whom he considers his idols.
