The NBA world has been buzzing since Damian Lillard requested a trade on July 1st, after spending 11 years with the Portland Trail Blazers. Dame has made it clear that he wants to suit up for the Miami Heat next season. His request has led both teams to look for a trade package that will be suitable for Lillard to head to South Beach.

With Miami’s offer still unknown, big names like Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo are being speculated for the trade package. Analyst and retired NBA player Kendrick Perkins addressed the situation after Bam Adebayo’s comments on the trade rumors.

Kendrick Perkins thinks Bam Adebayo is lying

Bam was asked about the trade rumors surrounding him and Damian Lillard. He replied, “I am not worried about that.” Bam realizes that it is all business, and both teams will be looking to make a trade that is suitable to all the parties involved. He added that he and Dame share a ‘brotherhood’ and continue to be close friends.

Damian Lillard could prove to be the missing piece for Miami Heat

Damian Lillard was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers in 2012 and soon became a franchise player. Lillard showed his clutch gene when he hit the game-winning buzzer-beater against the Houston Rockets in the 2014 playoffs to give the Blazers their first playoff series win in 14 years. Since then, Lillard has become a superstar in the league, with his insane logo threes and clutch daggers over the opponents.

But the Trail Blazers have been unable to surround the superstar with the right pieces that can help Dame win a championship. Meanwhile, after losing in the NBA finals this year, Miami is probably only one key piece away from getting their first ring post the LeBron James era. With Gabe Vincent and Max Strus traded this off-season, Miami could use a superstar like Dame, who has unlimited shooting range.
