Do you think James Harden finally met his match? The 34-year-old is notorious for putting teams in a standoff until he gets what he wants. After all, that’s how he reached the Philadelphia 76ers. The Nets were at the top of the list and now the 76ers fill that position. More specifically, their president Daryl Morey.
Ever since Harden’s request for a trade, it’s been a crazy time at Philly. His fellow teammates are trying to keep going despite the very palpable tension. But, Morey is not one to be rattled. Every inch with the same hard-headedness as The Beard, Daryl has met him head-on.

James Harden is putting up a good fight
It certainly takes a whole another level of stoicism to stay calm under such demands and pressure. Just 10 days after Harden hosted a party in Houston with signs saying ‘Daryl Morey is a liar’, journalist Tim MacMahon questioned the GM’s mentality. Joining Windy and Tim Bontemps in NBA on ESPN, the veteran analyst says, “Daryl’s a robot … if there’s any GM in the league who you can’t rattle from like, an emotional standpoint, it’s Daryl Morey.”
Harden is set on making life tough for the 76ers president. Once, his biggest champion, Daryl Morey is now a “liar”. Not bothered in the slightest, Morey stands his ground on doing what is best for the team and not just one player. Talking to Keith Pompey on “The Anthony Gargano Show” on 97.5 FM, Morey made his stand clear.
“If we don’t get either a very good player or something we can turn into a very good player, we are not going to do it,” 76ers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey tells 97.5 FM of trading James Harden.

If any of this drama is indeed getting to Morey, he is doing an excellent job of hiding it.
Morey might even give Phil Ivey a run for his money.

Harden’s love for parties might be his undoing
Yes, The Beard loves to party. And yes, he hosts some of the dope events ever. But, this love for parties has been the cause of concern many times. His exclusive VIP gatherings at the hottest nightclubs to luxurious yacht parties in exotic locations make even an introvert wish their name was on the list.
But, his off-court lifestyle does not do any good to Harden’s basketball career. It’s one reason many NBA franchises shy away from going after the former MVP. An instance of this is when Harden’s team lost 129-100 to the Nets, and The Beard was seen partying with rappers Lil Baby and Travis Scott. The worst part was the fact Harden had a terrible game, scoring just 11 points on 3-17 shooting. You can imagine the result of such a display.
