The Philadelphia 76ers guard, Patrick Beverley, left abruptly in the first quarter to the locker room. Yet to know the reason behind his quiet withdrawal, it seems like there is no chance of him coming back. Struggling until halftime against the Pistons, Beverley’s exit was an unwelcome scenario for the 76ers.
So far, the only reasonable explanation is the neck pain Beverley has been dealing with. He played for just five minutes tonight and though he tried to down a shot, it wasn’t successful. Patrick did collect an assist before he had to leave.

Throughout their regular season run, Beverley has proven himself to be a valuable member of the team. His presence has helped the Sixers’ second unit a lot defensively. But seeing as how we are yet to receive official news about the current situation at hand, we can only hope this setback won’t affect the 76ers negatively.
Beverley’s presence in the locker room brings a breath of fresh air
Pat is not only an elite defender, he has proven that he is a key figure for Philly’s bench unit. Since the “big” Harden deal, the Sixers have a bunch of new players on the roster that will take time to adjust to the rhythm. Fortunately, they are all players that Beverley knows quite well.

And that has helped them integrate into the Philly system seamlessly. Talking about taking control of the locker room, Bev says, “Obviously, they made the trade, big pieces left, so it was up to me to kinda take over the locker room from there and it’s a brand of basketball we play … we just have each other’s backs … and there’s no surprise why we’ve been getting wins.” Indeed there isn’t.
Since Nick Nurse took over the 76ers team, they have proven to be a more close-knit group than ever. With Beverley herding the second unit and his defensive caliber, they have created a huge impact on the Philadelphia 76ers.

Hopefully, Bev doesn’t take too long to return. Until then, the Sixers will have to put in extra effort if they want to maintain their position.
