Every era has its own superstars who inspire future generations. Julius ‘Dr.J’ Erving inspired the likes of Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson, who in turn inspired LeBron James and others. Certain superstars have left an indelible mark on basketball. One of the major influences during the NBA’s early years was the late, great Wilt Chamberlain. The icon’s unbelievable feats still defy logic to this day and his influence eventually rubbed off on great big men like Kevin Garnett. The Boston Celtics legend recently revealed his solid motivation behind the 4-year long investment in the new Wilt Chamberlain documentary series.
The 15x NBA All-Star reminisced about the impact of Chamberlain during a conversation with Ben Golliver. KG claimed that his fondness for the game grew even stronger around the passion of his grandfathers and uncles. The Hall of Famer mentioned how his family shaped him to look up to people who made a difference in the community.
