Rex Chapman on how his family helped him overcome addictions
Chapman first opened up, “I feel conflicted sitting here being celebrated for failing spectacularly in life.” He said he is glad that he is healthy and away from dr*gs, and writing the book was a “huge emotional bomb” since his family had to relive it all again. Also, he mentioned how his ex-wife was taking care of their children and raised them single-handedly. Her sister was the one who got him into rehab and saved his life.
Charles Barkley said that it is important for people to share their experiences as nobody is alone in the world. He recalled a story where he was having conversations with a lot of people regarding addictions. And the majority of them had said, “‘Thank you for sharing,’ cause it is painful.” Chuck has always had an outspoken personality, so it makes sense for him to highlight this as an important issue.
