Jerry West has been a staple of the NBA ever since he was drafted in 1960. For the uninitiated,?it is Jerry’s silhouette that makes up the iconic NBA logo we all know today. A legendary player, West was also a coach for the LA Lakers between 1976-79. His successes earned him an executive role within the franchise, and it is during this time that he oversaw his most successful stint with the Purple and Gold. Although he left the Lakers in 2000, West has always been a well-respected figure within the franchise. The Logo logo even helped the Warriors build a dynasty before moving back to Los Angeles.
