Wrestling fans missed a few significant talents at AEW Full Gear last night. All the stars had their own reasons for not being able to make it to the PPV. However, one wrestler was probably purposefully sidelined due to a reported injury he faced.
Fans might not catch this AEW star on screen for a few weeks
The main event at Full Gear ’23 was a hit among fans as both MJF and Jay White didn’t hold back on the action. However, Juice Robinson was missing from the match. Even though the main event title match was between Friedman and White, Robinson was expected to interfere, considering the friendship he shares with the champion’s challenger.

Things went south when Robinson received an injury, presumably before the PPV. According to Fightful Select, “Juice Robinson is sidelined with an injury.” It will probably stay this way for some more future matches until he gets better.
While it is true that MJF is a formidable champion who has proven himself worthy on many occasions by successfully defending his title, things might have turned out differently than what went down at Full Gear this year if it weren’t for Robinson’s injury.
Since the injured wrestler wasn’t there to assist his best friend in the match, MJF ended up winning despite heavy odds.
MJF retained the AEW World Championship despite heavy odds
‘The Silver-tongued Devil’ faced The Gunns during the pre-show matchup. Even though the champion ended up bagging the ROH Tag Team Championship alongside Samoa Joe, he was ambushed by the twins. This led to him facing a severe injury to the ankle, as well as to the knee on one of his legs.

However, despite being warned against the risks, Friedman couldn’t stop himself from showing up to face Jay White during the main event. After pulling up in an ambulance at the venue for a second time during the same night, MJF ended up winning the match in spite of the stacked odds against him.
There is no doubt that if Juice Robinson had been in the arena in such a circumstance, we would have welcomed a new AEW World Champion that night. This is because even though MJF had enough strength and will to wrestle a fair match, he might not have been able to handle Robinson’s interference.
