

It has been a little over 21 years since John Cena made his WWE debut. While he didn’t find favor from the crowd or the WWE management right away, unlike his other Ohio Valley Wrestling peers Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar, Cena has gone on to become one of the biggest icons in the pro wrestling industry.
The 16-time World Champion recently reminisced about his formative years in the company and looked back at his iconic match against The Big Show at WrestleMania XX. This marquee event took place at the hallowed Madison Square Garden on March 14, 2004.

John Cena talks about ‘parking ignorance’ in NYC
Sharing the throwback video, Cena commented on the match as the 1-minute 31 second-clip played out. This was an era when John Cena would portray a rapper – Doctor of Thuganomics – and would dress a bit differently than his usual T-shirt and shorts.
Cena and The Big Show clashed for the latter’s WWE United States Championship, which he managed to win after jostling for a little over nine minutes. However, he also had to pay a hefty amount that night.

Due to his “ignorance about NYC parking”, John Cena parked his car four blocks away from the arena and after the match admittedly walked the distance, paid a heavy fine to get his car freed and go back home.

That said, he did have a big smile, as he mentioned in the video, as he was a freshly crowned champion.
