Throughout the summer, Manchester united kept an eye on Edinson Cavani and were desperate to gain his services. The 27 year old Cavani was reportedly unhappy in his present club Paris Saint-Germain as he had to play under the shadow of the great legend Zlatan Ibrahimović which may also have been the reason from him to play away from his preferred position i.e. more towards the wing.

As per the statistics of the Transfermarket, Cavani had scored 23 goals in his debut season representing Paris Saint-Germain and also set up 7 assists for others to score. This may have been the reason why Louis Van Gaal, Manchester United’s new manager, wanted to bring in the Uruguayan forward to Old Trafford. As per Daily Mails report, Cavani’s transfer to Manchester United news spread when the PSG player was omitted from any of the clubs kit’s advertising. Also, The Express states that he was tipped to be sold for splashing some cash in order to buy the Real Madrid starlet Di Maria.

However in his interview to the French newspaper, L’EQUIPE, Cavani dismissed all speculations regarding a move away from PSG. He said- ‘I’m certain that I’ll stay; Why wouldn’t I?” He also added, “I feel very good in Paris and I have a contract to respect at PSG. I’d prefer to be here. I feel good here.”

And that’s how it all ends, no more transfer rumors about the Uruguayan center forward as he confirms his stay at the ‘Parc Des Princes’.
