Cedi Osman has been a part of the Caveliers team since his rookie season in 2015. He was in fact, drafted by Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2015 NBA Draft as the 31 overall pick, but was traded to the Caveliers on the same night in exchange with Tyus Wolves.

On July 18, 2017, Osman signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers and started becoming a regular in the team. His best finish came when the Cavaliers made it to the 2018 NBA Finals, but lost 4-0 to the Golden State Warriors.

Osman scored a career high 29 points last season, in a 100-94 loss to the Miami Heat, which also helped in Osman being named as a participant for the 2019 Rising Stars Challenge as a member of the World Team after a stretch of notable career games.

Overall, Osman has averaged 13.0 points on 42.7 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from 3-point range in 76 games last season. He had a decent start to the 2019 season with 13 points in Wednesday’s 94-85 loss against Orlando Magic.

At 24, Osman is relatively young and a contract extensions does seem like a good deal for both the parties.
