In an interesting turn of events, Boston Celtics came back from 21 points down to take Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Playoffs against Cleveland Cavaliers and avoided a potential series sweep. If the first two games were “The LeBron James Show”, Game 3 was all about the Celtics. LeBron James had a rare off-game with only 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists on 30 percent shooting from the field. Although Cavaliers led all of the first half and most of the game, the Boston Celtics came back from down 21 in the third quarter to eventually win the game on a sweet jumper by Avery Bradley who finished the game with 20 crucial points.

The Boston Celtics were playing on the road today without Isaiah Thomas who has been ruled out for the rest of the playoffs due to a sour hip. This was looking like a routine home game for the Cavs who lead by 21 points midway despite James dropping only 11 total points. Things turned ugly for the Cavs when Marcus Smart who started in place of Isaiah Thomas went nuclear from deep connecting on 7 of his 10 three-point attempts, putting every Cavs defender on roller skates! A bunch of Celtics players showed up today. Jae Crowder had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, Al Horford chipped in 16 points. Kelly Olynyk and Jonas Jerebko combined for 25 points off the bench including a clutch Jerebko 3-pointer. For the Cavs, Kevin Love had a 28,10 game while Kyrie Irving dropped 29 points. Cleveland had an awful game defensively. Boston was able to hit 18 three-pointers for the game, something that should worry Cavs head coach Tyronn Lou.

This Boston win is a testament to the fact that the Cavs have a huge chance of losing when LeBron doesn’t show up. This Celtics win has provided some much craved excitement to an otherwise boring east finals. Celtics will look to stay like they are in Game 4 in Cleveland while Cavs will try to take a 3-1 lead and finish the Celtics in 5 games.
