If someone planted a flower every time the NASCAR Next-Gen car had a mechanical issue, we would already have a beautiful flower garden. Of course, there are more and more issues with the current car, especially after Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick retired from races because of mechanical issues. And now, Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson add to the argument.

During the current race weekend at Bristol, the Hendrick Motorsports duo talked about the part fails with the current car. And spoiler, they are with Harvick on this one. Because the parts failure issue was even more prevalent in the Short Track over the weekend at Bristol.

Larson said, “I think when they did the wheel force testing here, every manufacturer had issues and it showed up today too so, hate that happened. But that’s what you get when you got spec parts.”

The 2021 Cup Series Champion seems to point the finger at the new parts that are specifically made for the next-gen car. However, his teammate, Elliott, is pretty unsurprised about the issues the car is facing, as he declared, “It was exactly what I thought it might be,”

He added by highlighting more issues, “Power steering problems that had been a topic of conversation. There are some tire issues as well, so yeah.”

Casey Smith – I literally think NASCAR has made a car for Cup that was made to send people to the hospital and have parts fail to try to quickly under new rules fix the car because of this.”

JMolKoz20791 – I’m not surprised at all cause I stopped asking that question 5 races into the season. These Gen 7 cars suck Nascar! Bring back the Gen 6 cause at least they don’t break this easy.

Ever443 – This is what NASCAR gets by choosing a company that did not have a background in building cars and parts. Guess they gave the biggest kickback to NASCAR.

Nathan Schlenker – Probably gonna get hate for this, but can we go back to the Gen 6 car already? I’m not a fan of the spec car, the composite body, new wheels/tires, etc.

Todd W – Harvick said it, cheap parts!
