Chelsea FC have shown interest in the FC Augsburg defender Baba Rahman. The Blues are set to replace Filipe Luis, who is keen to move to his former club Atletico Madrid. Inter Milan too have shown interest in the Brazilian fullback. The Premier League Champions will face stiff competition from their rivals Arsenal and Manchester City who are also keen to land the Ghana based defender. The 20-year-old defender was rated as the best in Bundesliga last season which has led to interest from German clubs too. The defender has made it clear that he wants to leave the club for Champions League Football next season. The club too has no objection in cashing-in their player for 14.2 million Euros. Rahman wants to play Champions League football but needs a place in the first team too. Chelsea might not be able to offer him that since Cesar Azpilicueta, who has been great for The Blues, will challenge him for the spot. The defender is in Ghana right now for his holidays and will join the club next month for the pre-season. The Ghanian would want his future sorted out sooner than that. Will Chelsea capture him before others wrap up the deal?

In their history, Chelsea have won over thirty championships, including six league titles and five European trophies. Though five of the six league championships and three of the five European titles were won in the Abramovich Era.

Their most successful manager has been Jose Mourinho, who has won eight titles in his two stints at Stamford Bridge. Their current manager, Frank Lampard is regarded as their most legendary figure along with the likes of John Terry, Didier Drogba, David Webb, John Hollins, and Pat Nevin.

In 2016, Chelsea was ranked as the seventh most valuable football club in the world ?1.15 billion, by Forbes magazine. As of 2016, Chelsea are ranked eighth in the Deloitte Football Money League with annual commercial revenue of ?322.59 million.

Most recently, they won the UEFA Champions League under the leadership of manager Thomas Tuchel. They beat the Premier League champions Manchester City 1-0 in the final as Kai Havertz took the Blues to the promised land.

The 30<sup>th</sup> season of the top flight professional English football, Premier League 2021/22 will take place from August 13 2021 to May 17 2022. After a not-so-thrilling title race last season against Manchester United, Manchester City emerged victorious for the Premier League title. The 2021/22 edition of the tournament is set to bring an equal amount of excitement, with Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United all in the mix for the title.

Comprising of four divisions until 1991, the top division of English football split up and all the teams in the top division, after multiple discussions with the football authorities and television broadcasters, formed the Premier League in 1992.

The competition format remained the same, with three clubs relegated and three clubs promoted every season, and the top four clubs in the Premier League would qualify for the Champions League.

The main reason for the change in approach was to bring in more money into the game. The first broadcast rights for the Premier League was to be won at ?304?million over five years by Sky UK. The Premier League is the most-watched sports league in the world, broadcast in 212 territories to 643?million homes and a potential TV audience of 4.7?billion people.

The 2019-20 Premier League was the first season to incorporate a winter break, which has always been included in major leagues across Europe. In February 2020, the Premier League saw one round of matches played over two weekends, with five matches on the weekend commencing February 8, and five on the weekend commencing on February 15.
