Chelsea reportedly made a bid for the Lyon forward Moussa Dembele which was rejected by Lyon. The Blues made a cash offer of around £34 million and Olivier Giroud.

Lyon, who currently sits 12th on the table have said they have no absolutely no intention of selling their star player.

Club’s official website had this to say: Olympique Lyonnais has taken note of certain information relayed by the media suggesting that Mousa Dembele could interest other clubs during this transfer window.

“OL would like to reaffirm its wish, as in the summer of 2019, to keep Moussa Dembele.

“The club has full confidence in Moussa and counts in particular on him to build a successful team for the seasons to come.”

Since OL has been dealing with injuries to Memphis Depay and Jeff Reine-Adelaide, they have been more resolved to hold on to Dembele.

Further reports suggested that Frank Lampard would make another offer for the player and it would be more effective this time. Since the last offer was swept away, Lampard is keen to get attention from the club and open negotiations.

Mousa Dembele has 10 goals in 18 Ligue 1 matches but was not able to find the back of the net in Champions League. Playing against the teams like RB Leipzig in their group, he was not able to infiltrate their defense.

He will hopefully change that in the knockout stages of the competition as his club faces Juventus.

Chelsea has Tammy Abraham as their main striker who has scored 12 league goals this season already. They look for another striking option as Lampard has Timo Werner as his replacement choice in the transfer window.
