Leon Edwards is looking for a huge fight after an impressive winning streak. Former champion, Tyron Woodley is also aiming to make a comeback soon. With all these great title contenders in the mix who fights the winner of Kamaru Usman vs Colby Covington next? 

In the athlete panel ahead of UFC 245, Colby Covington was asked who does he want next if he gets the job done on December 14th. To which Covington gave an interesting answer. Covington mentioned that he is open to fighting George St Pierre, Conor McGregor, and even Khabib Nurmagomedov.

“As the people’s champion, I would like to ask the people who they would like to see me face next. Should it be journeyman Jorge Masvidal? Should it be GSP? Should it be Khabab? Should I beat that Irish leprechaun that could not even knock an old, drunk dude off a stool on the bar?”

Finally, Covington heard to the audience present and stated that he would fight “Journeyman Masvidal” next.

The former best friends turned rival, Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal have been looking to fight each other for a meaningful period. The rivalry between the two first became public when Covington threw dirt at Masvidal leading up to UFC 244. Masvidal was calling out Kamaru Usman for a title shot that should have been Covington’s rightfully. Since then both of these fighters have said a ton of things about each other that has intensified the beef between the two. And now, it’s almost certain that they are going to face each other inside the octagon if Covington manages to get the welterweight title from Usman.

On the other hand, after winning the BMF title Jorge Masvidal has bee aiming to go over the boxing world to fight Canelo Alvarez. He has also been showing interest in a fight with Conor McGregor.
