The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is fighting tooth and nail to find his way back into the NFL. It seems like at this moment Kaepernick just wants to play football. The athlete has tried everything he can to generate interest among franchises. However, it has been fruitless till now.
The quarterback is looking for an opportunity that gets him through the door. He has been posting various workout videos of him throwing the ball. Kaepernick seems to be in good shape as well. But due to the lack of interest, he might even settle for a backup QB role.

Colin Kaepernick to play as a backup quarterback?
Colin Kaepernick did an interview with some big names in the NFL. The former QB appeared on the recent episode of the “I AM ATHLETE” Podcast. Kaepernick was accompanied by former NFL stars like Adam “Pacman” Jones, Chad Johnson, and Brandon Marshall. This episode took place after the QB did a recent workout near the House of Athlete facility in Weston, FL. This is where he discussed his desire to return to the NFL.

During the interview, Marshall asked Kaepernick if he would be interested in a backup role? Something like Carmelo Anthony in the NBA. The basketball player has signed a veteran’s contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. Even though his role has less playtime, he still earns about $2.6 million.

The QB answered yes,00 he would like a deal similar to that at this point. “I know I have to find my way back in. So, if I have to come in as a backup, that’s fine,” Kaepernick adds, “But that’s not where I’m staying. And when I prove that I’m a starter, I want to be able to step on the field as such. I just need that opportunity to walk through the door.”

Kaepernick’s last season in the NFL
Colin Kaepernick has not played in the NFL since 2016. In his previous season, the athlete started 11 games for the San Francisco 49ers. After he protested by taking a knee, he was let go by the Niners.
