Comparisons arise when someone occupies a position previously held by another person. Although there can be many differences, the same happened between Carson Beck and Stetson Bennett. In 2021, Bennett came back to Georgia as a QB and helped the team to win two consecutive national championships. Conversely, Beck stands out as one of the best QBs at Georgia in the class of 2024. 

However, both the players, Beck and Bennett, ranked as the No. 7 quarterback prospect in the 2023 NFL draft and the 2024 NFL draft, respectively. It also can be a reason to put these two talents against each other. Although there exists plenty of differences regarding their prowess and caliber in the gridiron. As per the HC of Georgia, Beck is unlike any QB he’s ever seen. 

Is Beck better than Bennett?

On August 14, 2024, Kirby Smart, head coach of Georgia, shared a post on his X account to congratulate Beck for his early graduation. Following this post, Beck began receiving backlash from fans who compared him to Bennett. On this note, @LaflareTMC shared Kirby’s post on his Twitter account with the caption “Boy graduated before Stetson LMAO“. It seems like Beck’s early graduation left his fans overwhelmed. There is always a comparison between these players as their stats are almost duplicates. Beck recorded 27 touchdowns with only 7 interceptions and Bennett recorded 24 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. 

Although, as per the track record of their performance, they are not so different from each other. But Stetson was recognized for his mobility and throwing ability off the run. Whereas, Beck is known for his deep-ball under-throws and arm strength. Therefore, the comparison between Beck and Bennett might be unjust. But fans have a different thinking. Fans’ thoughts on Kirby Smart’s shout-out

One bulldog fan poked fun and also showed love to Stetson saying, “Still waiting on Stetson.”  Next, a user commented, “Last I checked, Stetson has a high-paying job that allows him to live a very comfortable lifestyle…isn’t that the entire point of higher education?” Conversely, Beck’s focus is football. Hence, it reflects that Beck is not only good at athletics but also academically. 

Moreover, another fan stated “Too soon, Junior” by sharing a GIF. So, it makes clear that Beck graduated too early with an excellent performance in football. On the other hand, Bennett did not graduate after playing out his college career at Georgia.

Lastly, a fan also said in a tone of sarcasm “Send a picture to Stetson to look at in between interceptions“. It seems like having a remarkable track record does not stop an athlete from performing well in his studies. 

Currently, both players play for different teams, so such comparison can affect their fan base, both of them are very skilled in their own field. So, let’s wait and see what they bring in their upcoming season.
