Recently, Naomi Osaka spoke on wanting to take a break from the Tour. In recent months, she has played a number of tournaments, and because of the pandemic and COVID-19 protocols, has had to live under restrictions. After being in Australia for more than a month, she went to Miami to play and faced circumstances similar to what she faced in Australia.

Naomi stated, “Yeah, I felt like I needed it because after Australia I had, like, one day of rest, then I immediately started working. It wasn’t tennis, but other stuff. For me, I just felt like the hardcourt swing, the Australian hard-court swing, plus Miami, was kind of compressed for me.”

Naomi Osaka has not met her family since Christmas last year

The Japanese player has done a lot of traveling recently. She had just a day off before heading to Florida. The recent activities have taken a toll on the 23-year-old and have left her feeling a bit overwhelmed. She has not met her family since Christmas last year, and she now wants to spend time with them.

In the current season, Osaka competed at the Australian Open and lifted her fourth Grand Slam title. After that, she traveled to Miami and unfortunately ended her 23-match winning streak.

Now that the focus has shifted towards the clay-court tournaments, she is expected to play at the Mutua Madrid Masters. The event will be played from the coming week onwards.
