There is no superstar in the history of mixed martial arts that boasts the riches that Conor McGregor does. Once a plumber, the Irishman has had an unimaginable journey to the top of the UFC, and is now the biggest star of the multi-billion dollar promotion.

After getting to the top, the fighter doesn’t hold back on showing off his flashy and luxurious lifestyle. ‘Notorious’ owns multiple businesses which provide him with a surplus of income, apart from his extremely lucrative fight compensations.

In 2021, the former UFC double division champion soared to the top of the Forbes list for the highest-paid athlete of the year. Conor McGregor even surpassed some of the most popular athletes in the world. This includes Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and LeBron James. According to reports, Mystic Mac made $158 million apart from fighting in the financial year.

The reason for this was not even related to fighting. McGregor earned a huge amount in 2021, after he sold a majority stake of his Irish Whiskey company, Proper 12, to Proximo Spirits.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, the Irish fighter is now worth a staggering 200 million dollars. The Irishman is single-handedly worth more than some of the world’s greatest athletes. This includes Michael Phelps, Usain Bolt, and the Olympic gymnast Simone Biles.

The Olympians, Michael Phelps, and Usain Bolt have a combined net worth of $190 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. The Olympic swimmer Phelps is worth $100 Million and Bolt is worth $90 million. This means that Conor McGregor can outbid both the Olympic legends and still have $10 million in his bank to enjoy a comfortable life.

In an interview that Conor McGregor had with Conan O’Brien, the Irishman spoke about his humble beginnings in Ireland. He spoke about how he started off as a plumber on a project and then how he chose to follow his dreams and stayed dedicated to his art.

McGregor said, “I had many days on site. It’s cold, it’s damp, it’s dark… For me, it just wasn’t a life I wanted to live. And I was in I remember during a lunch break. I was in the car park and it was pissing rain down.”

He continued, “I just said to myself, there was some music playing, there wasn’t even words it was just a kind of a beat and I got like real. I went somewhere where then I was like I’m out of here, I’m gonna just drive out of this build. And so I head home and pursue this dream of becoming a world champion in mixed martial arts, and that’s what I did.”

McGregor explained that he chose his career path according to his life’s passion and has never looked back ever since. When he started off, he didn’t have the support of his parents and was on the journey all alone. After reaching success in the MMA world, he got the support of his parents.
