Conor McGregor has broken his silence on everything going on around him and set the MMA community of fire with his future goals. Conor said he wants the Khabib rematch to get the redemption of his loss. Conor wants the world title back on his shoulder.
Talking about the first fight with Khabib, Conor McGregor said:
“In the return fight, I want my world title back, I want that redemption, the camp was not correct. I let so much on that. Knowing the commitment, I had in that camp, knowing the performance I put on. He(Khabib) ran away for that fourth round, he didn’t throw a punch, he shot for the legs before he threw a punch. There was no whisper out of him until he ended in that dominant position. The only reason he ended up in that dominant position was that I walked around with disrespect towards him cause he was running around the cage. I switched off for millisecond and he got that lucky shot although it was a beautiful shot. Even after he got the shot, I bounced back and then shoot again.”
Conor McGregor says he doesn’t need any tune-up fights before the rematch with Khabib. Conor talked about the injuries he had going to the first bout and said:
“I dove in on one foot. My foot was a ballon. My Toes came out of the socket. I came into the cage and break them and that thing ballooned out. And I hobbled in there and I walked Khabib down. I didn’t two s**t. And that was with a bad half-committed camp.”
Talking about what went wrong in his fight camp, Conor said:
“I was too committed in the gym, and not committed outside of it. The training session was too serious. And when I left the gym it was gone from my mind. I would go off into the jungle. And you can not be half in especially in a game like this. And I paid the price for it. Although I had reasons and injuries who gives a shit.”
Talking about whether he can beat Khabib, Conor said:
“What happened has happened. I know what I can do. I have done it before when I was doubted. And I’m eager to do it again.”
Conor McGregor is for sure looking to get his revenge for the loss against Khabib. However, Conor also said that he would fight anyone to get his world title back. Conor has tons of options ahead of him when it comes to his next opponent. However, his rematch with Khabi b and trilogy fight with Nate stays on the top of that list. It would be fascinating to see what Conor McGregor does after the Khabib defends his title against Dustin in UFC 242.
