Conor McGregor is always the talk of the town for both his in-ring achievements and rivalry with other fighters. However, the rivalry between Conor and Nate Diaz stands out from the rest. The prizefighter of UFC, Conor McGregor fought Nate Diaz twice in two of the biggest events that UFC has ever seen. And it was undeniable that Nate and Conor were supposed to fight for the third time somewhere down the lane. Even before his fight with Khabib, Conor said that he would give Nate Diaz the rematch just as Diaz did after the first time they met.

However, it seems Nate Diaz has moved on from the Conor trilogy fight to other big things now. After his sensational return in UFC 241 after a 3 year-long layoff to fight Anthony Pettis Diaz shocked the world when he went after Jorge Masvidal. Fans were speculating Diaz would get the microphone after the fight and he would blast Conor McGregor as he did after his win over Michael Johnson.

Now the triangle of ConorNateMasvidal is a win-win for the fans. It would be a huge fight if any two of these three fighters decide to step into the octagon to fight each other. However, it seems the Diaz-Masvidal fight is next. Masvidal is riding the biggest wave of popularity in MMA right now and Diaz just let the world know who the real gangster in UFC is. Hence it would be safe to assume that Conor might have to wait a little more for his next big payday.

It’s obvious now that Conor McGregor is looking to fight Nate Diaz after Diaz has made his return. Conor last fought Khabib in October last year. And since then he has been sitting out and watching how things play out in the lightweight division. One thing is assured that Conor McGregor is not going to come out and fight someone such as Justin Gathje or Donald Cerrone. Conor will be looking forward to the big fights ahead of him. The trilogy fight with Nate Diaz, the rematch with Khabib or possibly a fight with Masvidal will what interests Conor.

Conor McGregor has fired the shot. Now Conor has to wait for Nate’s response to his offer for the trilogy fight.
