Conor McGregor Teases Potential Rematch With Jose Aldo Ahead of UFC 246

Conor McGregor became a global phenomenon when he knocked out the long-reigning featherweight king, Jose Aldo. The fashion in which Conor flatlined Aldo in 13 seconds left the fans shocked. Ever since that loss fans have always speculated how would a rematch go between these two former rivals?

Conor McGregor Thinks Jose Aldo Won Against Marlon Moraes

Well, Conor McGregor talks about a potential rematch with Jose Aldo who is coming off an impressive bantamweight debut against the former title contender, Marlon Moraes. Assessing Aldo’s performance against Moraes, Conor stated:

I thought he looked really well in his condition and in his weight cut. I was very impressed with that. it takes complete discipline and dedication. I thought it was a good bout with Marlon. I think once he switched on to that high kick he was comfortable enough. I think Aldo was a better fighter and probably won the fight.

Conor then went on and said that he can see Aldo fight in a rematch down the line. Talking about the long-awaited rematch, Conor said:

You never know. Aldo is coming back at me. Maybe if he wants it.

However, Conor is very reluctant to cut weight for featherweight again as he explains:

I don’t know. I am at a great spot not having to cut weight right now. it’s easy for me to say I will do it, but when you are cutting weight it’s tough. That’s why I have immense respect for Jose and I knew that the media was saying he’s cutting too much weight.

There are a number of super fights on the table for Conor McGregor ahead of UFC 246. The BMF title fight with Jorge Masvidal, the potential rematch with Khabib Nurmagoemdov, the trilogy fight with Nate Diaz, and now the rematch with Jose Aldo certainly makes that list of fights.
