COVID-19 Infected Individual at MCG Cricket Match Raises Doubts Over Australian Open 2021 Crowd Capacity

After a number of meetings between authorities, Tennis Australia decided to conduct the 2021 Australian Open from the 8th to the 21st of February. The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic still continue to affect the world, which forced the organizers to decide to conduct the qualifying rounds in cities outside the country.
The men’s qualifying rounds will take place in Doha, whereas the women’s will be conducted in Dubai. Recently, it was announced that the entrances to Melbourne Park will be split into three different ways. The prime objective of these decisions is to reduce close contact and maintain social distancing.
Australian Open 2021 to Be Held Without Spectators?

Not long ago, there was a cricket test match played at one of the greatest venues in sports, the Melbourne Cricket Ground. During the second day of the match, a spectator tested positive for the coronavirus.
The acting premier, Jacinta Allan issued a statement which stated, “Anyone who was seated within that zone 5 bubbles will be receiving a text message in the next couple of hours, advising them of the situation.”
