Cricket South Africa made the announcement for the national contract list for the 2020-2021 season. However, Dale Steyn is missing from the national contract list.

Dale Steyn not a part of the national contract list

Dale Steyn retired from Test Cricket in 2019. Since then he is playing just the T20s. In fact, he is appearing in a number of competitive events across the globe. Hopefully, this will ensure his inclusion in the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

South Africa is going to host Sri Lanka and Australia in the upcoming year. Following that, they will travel to face Pakistan and West Indies for World Test Championship fixtures. Additionally, there will be limited-overs in their schedule as well.

On the other hand, players such as Dwaine Pretorius, Anrich Notrje, and Rassie van der Dussen have received contract upgrades. Also, Beuran Hendricks got his first national contract as well.

“The upgrade system will again be in place this year. Those players performing and selected for the Proteas during the 2020/21 season and who are not contracted can qualify for a National Contract upgrade.”
