Is MS Dhoni retiring or is it just a bunch of rumours that the audience is starting to spread? Regardless of what the actual situation is, Sakshi Dhoni is one who does not take it lightly when anyone starts a hashtag about her husband.

There is no confirmation on whether MS Dhoni is retiring or not

Recently, there have been several speculations about Dhoni retiring from International Cricket. This can be true given that the former Indian team skipper has not played any competitive event since 2019 World Cup. However, he has not made any official announcement about this either.

On the other hand, when BCCI released the contracts for the upcoming season, MS Dhoni’s name was not in the list. This led to further debates about what exactly was happening. Unfortunately, even BCCI has refused to comment on his future and has assured the fans that they will know everything soon.

Former skipper’s wife steps in to address the false rumours

Now, a hashtag was going around Twitter which said #DhoniRetires. While some of his fans insisted this is nothing but a false rumour, Mrs. Dhoni stepped in to defend him. She claims that this is nothing but rumours and that it’s the direct consequence of a continuous lockdown.

Even though she deleted the Tweet in sometime, this is not the first time she has defended her husband. Even during September 2019 she tweeted that rumours about Dhoni’s retirement are completely false.

MS Dhoni was supposed to make a comeback to competitive cricket during IPL 2020. His performance in this event was supposed to determine whether he will return to the Indian squad or not. Regrettably enough the event got postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

There is no confirmation on when the event will commence. As of now, BCCI is yet to make a decision about the date.
