The Indian cricket team will face a much tougher Australian team, now that Smith and Warner are back. This is the opinion of Glenn McGrath.

Glenn McGrath comments about Smith and Warner’s return

Pace legend, Glenn McGrath, expresses that the Indian team will definitely play confidently in Australian conditions. However, with Steve Smith and David Warner back in the team, it will not be smooth sailing for the Men in Blue for the four match Test series.

On top of that, Glenn McGrath said that even though the Australian team is much stronger now, the Indian team is equally strong as well. Therefore, there’s a good chance for the Test series between Australia and India to be one of the better ones of the season.

“They have got the confidence of playing in Australian conditions now and they know how to do it. They’ve done it and they’ve been successful. So, there’s still enough positives there I think it’s going to be a really good series for sure.”

Indian team to tour Australia between October 2020 and January 2021

The Indian team will be touring Australia between October 2020 and January 2021. During this time the two teams will play four Tests, three T20 Internationals, and three ODIs.

During the 2018-2019 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, India recorded a majestic triumph over Australia. They won the four match Test series 2-1. Unfortunately for Australia, the Tim Paine led cricket team did not feature Smith and Warner. Both the players were serving their respective bans following the ball-tampering scandal.

Now that both of them are back in the team, McGrath praised the two of them in an interview in Mumbai. He said that both the players are performing well. In fact, with the two of them back in the team, each game will be different now. Additionally, their brilliant performance helped the  Australia retain the Ashes against England.

“Having a batsman like Warner back, and a quality batsman like Steve Smith, it’s a totally different game.”
