A recent Flashpoint Q&A had announced that the second season of the tournament will take place sometime in November. Further to that, the organizers have decided on London, England for the venue. The previous season, Flashpoint 1, was owned in totality by the CS: GO teams that had founded it. It had a $2 million buy-in price.

The second tournament was announced today by B Site. The tourney will take place in their London studio, next month. The games will begin from November 9 and end on December 6, with a total prize pool of $1 million. Furthermore, 12 teams will be taking part in this online tournament.

Reports suggest, that seven of the eight founding members are returning for the second season. FunPlus Phoenix is the only one not joining in, but the reason for their absence is not confirmed as of yet. According to the general manager, Petar “⁠peca⁠” Marković, FunPlus Phoenix is sitting out because the “organization is focused on building a ‘promising, long-lasting roster for 2021.'”

Commissioner Christopher “⁠MonteCristo⁠” Mykles, spoke about the tourney in brief.

We’re dramatically improving the levels of both the competition and broadcast production for Flashpoint 2. We’re eager to give our fans a raw and unfiltered CS:GO tournament series while still taking necessary precautions to keep players safe.”

How will the qualifiers work for CS: GO Flashpoint 2?

Apart from the partner teams, five more teams will join the final line-up. Three of those will be invitees from the top 20 teams in CS: GO. The other two will proceed from the qualifying games, which will start with two open brackets.

The open qualifiers will take place from October 8 to 10. The top 4 from these qualifiers will now have to compete in the closed qualifiers. In addition, eight other teams will join these four teams and they will compete in a double-elimination, best of three format.
