German CS: GO team Berlin International Gaming or BIG, has come a long way since its nascence in 2017. Established by former NRG players Fatih “gob b” Dayik, Nikola “LEGIJA” Ninic and Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz, the team recently achieved the first position at the cs_summit6 and DreamHack Masters Spring tournaments.

To celebrate their victorious run from being an outsider to ranking #1 globally, HLTV.org made a video/movie about the team.

The country failed to maintain a consistent presence in the higher-levels of competitive gameplay, at least during the first couple of years of the game. In a way, the German Counter-Strike scene saw its rejuvenation with BIG stepping into the arena.

The team has seen major changes in its roster, the final one of which came earlier this year. Arguably, the roster found better form after adding Florian “syrsoN” Rische and Nils “k1to” Gruhne. TabseN is the only player to remain from the original lineup.

It has been a long road for the German team. The end, however, is far some way off. Let us see how long they stay on top of the game. GG, BIG!
