Complexity finds itself in a bit of a fix following Owen “oBo” Schlatter’s decision to step down. The 17-year-old has returned to the US and has no further plans of helping the CSGO roster in the ESL Pro League Season 12: Europe playoffs.

Obo had initially announced that he would stay with the team for the playoffs, but returned home, citing some concerns over traveling in Europe. His departure left the team in a compromised situation, and they had to depend on Jamie “Keita” Hall to step in and fill the vacancy.

“Over the player break, oBo expressed reservations about returning to Europe. He ultimately decided to return [to the United States] approximately 24 hours ago, and he informed the team he’d be returning to the US at the conclusion of the EPL playoffs.”

Lake also revealed that Complexity is hunting for a North American team for oBo. Meanwhile, the organization has already begun the process of looking for a replacement. This might prove an uphill task, as buyouts cost a fortune and it wouldn’t be feasible in the current situation.

Having said that, Complexity has replaced oBo with the team’s coach in the DreamHack Open Fall closed qualifier. But the new lineup failed to register a win against the Portuguese sAw, in the double-elimination bracket. Complexity will now look to redeem themselves against SJ in the lower bracket.

The ESL Pro League Season 12 playoffs start next week. So, it’s safe to say that Complexity won’t be able to grab a permanent replacement and will have to continue to improvise for now. We will have to wait and see how things pan out and if Complexity is able to make the most of its current situation. Stay tuned to find out what happens next!
