Black Friday has arrived and with it comes scores of deals and offers for players to cash in on. Every year, players find some heavy discounts on titles and consoles they have always wanted to play. So, there’s no better time to fulfill your gaming dreams for the upcoming holiday season than by purchasing video games and other devices as well. This includes CD Projekt RED’s controversial RPG title, Cyberpunk 2077.

It’s only been around a year since the title had a historically bad launch. Players can currently purchase the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 variant of the title from Target for just $9.99. So, is it finally time for fans to let bygones be bygones and get their hands on it?

Why such a low price for Cyberpunk 2077?

With Black Friday, most players expect to see heavy discounts on AAA titles from major studios. This includes EA Games, 2K, Bethesda, and many more. While titles from these companies which have been released in the past year usually drop by $10-20, CD Projekt RED’s latest game fell below the $10 mark. Rarely do players find titles of such stature in such a low price range.

However, every gaming fan saw this coming and many of them aren’t even surprised as well. Cyberpunk 2077 was released last year to poor reviews from both critics and fans. Everyone was appalled by the extraordinary amounts of glitches and bugs that literally made the game unplayable. While the next-generation consoles like the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 fared alright, players couldn’t even play the game on the Xbox One and PS4 without it crashing. This caused so much trouble for the developers that they had to apologize to fans for releasing such a product.

Should you buy the game?

Keeping aside the game’s various issues, many fans liked the ambitious nature of the title in terms of storytelling and visuals. The world of Night City was tremendous with its futuristic aesthetics. However, with bad framerates problems and terribly rendered environments, players have rarely seen the City in its absolute glory.

But, the developers at CD Projekt RED have been toiling away to fix all their mistakes for the past year. So far, their roadmap includes details on fixes of all kinds. Additionally, players will also receive a free next-generation upgrade for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 users, which will release next year. It remains to be seen how long it will take for the developers to iron out all the issues. However, it will be hard for players to remove the sour taste of the game’s launch from last year.

In the end, $10 for an AAA title like Cyberpunk 2077 sounds like a steal. However, as of right now, the game still has a lot of issues that players will experience on the PS4 and Xbox One. Even then, if fans don’t have any plans to purchase any cheeseburgers from McDonald’s this Thanksgiving, then they might want to pick this game up.
