This might be the end of the summer run for the UFC. Dana White looks back at the rollercoaster of a journey he and the promotion have had.

2020 seemed cursed even before the pandemic grabbed the year by the neck. Forcing lockdowns in every sphere, the pandemic brought the entire world to a halt, causing multiple cancellations and completely paralyzing international travel to help curb the spread.

One man and his promotion have been in the eye of this storm. Dana White got UFC shows back on the road as soon as he could. He organized events in secluded arenas, in the absence of fans.

He even took his entire promotion company to Abu Dhabi for 3 weeks and conducted events on a private island. And none of this came easy and understandably so.

Speaking at the post-fight press conference of UFC 252, Dana White said, “It’s been amazing yeah! I’m having fun. I’ve been doing this for a long time and this year I had to face a lot of different challenges that I have never faced before and I like it.

“I’ve had fun through this thing as sick and demented as that may sound.”

White also said, “Not just the summer, I mean 2020 has gone down as the sh**est year in the history of the world. But you know, as I said, I love the challenge of it, it has been interesting.”
