Daniel Ricciardo has had a disappointing season, with more breakdowns in his car than any other player this season. Ricciardo had earlier said that there was no point in finishing the last two races. However he took to the social media to say that he would be racing in the remaining couple of races.
“I will be doing the last two races,” said a smiling Daniel Ricciardo in his video that was posted on his Instagram page. Ricciardo is all set to make a move to Renault next season. however, he believes that there is still some work left to do here and he hopes he can pay off the hard work done by the team over the season. He said after a decent amount of rest he will be geared up to finish the season on a high.
“It’s been obviously massive highs and lows this year; more lows, unfortunately. It’s been frustrating, I won’t lie”, said Daniel Ricciardo.“But I owe it to myself and to all the guys that work their butts off to give it two more cracks before we see each other off. I will be there and I just needed a few days off”, he added.
An emotional Ricciardo was running in second after qualifying on pole until smoke began to billow out of the back of his car, causing him to retire for the eighth time this season, this time with hydraulics failure. Daniel Ricciardo was forced to retire 10 laps short in his third podium of the season in the Mexican GP. It was his fourth DNF in the seven races and eighth across a very dismal and miserable campaign marred by unlucky mechanical issues. The Perth native will get the chance to finish his Red Bull career on a high note at the final two stops in Brazil (November 12) and Abu Dhabi (November 26)
