Felix Auger-Aliassime drew first blood

In the following set, the Canadian star was clearly riding on the momentum. He broke the Russian powerhouse in the second game of the second set. At this point, everything was going Felix’s way.

Both players were striking the ball really well, and in a few instances, indulged in rallies of 20 shots and more. However, after 41 minutes, it was Auger Aliassime who clinched the set 6-3.

In the third set, things went similar to the opening set. The winner had to be decided by playing out a tiebreaker. When the tiebreaker began, Medvedev was all over it, winning 7-2 with ease.

With that, the match went into the fourth set. Both players were playing with real intent. At 4-5 in the fourth set, Medvedev saved a match point and won the game to make it 5-5. In the next game, Daniil got the break and served it out to claim the fourth set, 7-5.
