Daniil Medvedev Set To Add His Name in Elite List Involving Rafael Nadal and Ivan Lendl at US Open 2021 Finals

Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev has been in sensational form at the moment. Whenever the tennis shifts towards the hardcourt season in the North American region, his level shifts a gear or two up higher. He has already won the Toronto Masters earlier this month.
At the moment, Daniil Medvedev is in the final of the US Open 2021. The 25-year-old player has been in top form over the past two weeks. During his run to the finals, he has managed to drop just one set over the past six matches. However, if he manages to win the match on Sunday in straight sets, he would’ve found himself in the company of Rafael Nadal and Ivan Lendl.
Both the above legends mentioned above managed to achieve this feat. Lendl did it in 1987 whereas Rafa did the same in 2010. The Russian powerhouse has an opportunity to do so. However, one cannot rule Daniil out of this challenge as his tennis has been impeccable this season.

Daniil Medvedev being one step away from Grand Slam glory
Reflecting on Medvedev’s season so far, he was the finalist at the Australian Open. After that, he managed to reach the quarterfinal of the French Open, which was his best result in Paris. He came as far as the fourth round at the Wimbledon Championships.
Currently, he is having a great run on the North American hardcourt Tour. He will be playing the winner of the match between Alexander Zverev and Novak Djokovic. He was a finalist in 2019 but lost to Rafael Nadal in a close contest. We wish him the best of luck for his match on Sunday.
