Destiny 2: Sleeper Simulant Is Now a PvE Meta Following the Recent Damage Buff
Follow Us
The developers at Bungie has nerfed a lot of popular weapons in Destiny 2 recently. With Season 15 set to arrive in under a month, a lot of meta weapons like the Anarchy will have some serious drop in performance. Along with that, players will also find some changes in weapons like Hand Cannons and Shotguns, as they also received some tweaking to become less powerful.
The game recently buffed some weapons as well, including the Linear Fusion Rifles. These weapons had gained a 15% increase in damage for them to compete better in the game. However, the buff didn’t benefit the Sleeper Simulant as the developers intended. So it received custom tuning and now the weapon can deal some massive damage, especially in PvE modes.

Destiny 2 massively buffs Sleeper Simulant Linear Fusion Rifle
The developers announced the custom buff for the Sleeper Simulant Linear Fusion Rifle in a This Week At Bungie blog post last month. The post stated that the Season of the Splicer buff for Linear Fusion Rifles didn’t benefit the Sleeper Simulant as they intended to. So they have added a custom buff for it, with a 16.5% total buff compared to the 15% for the others.
With this change, the Sleeper Simulant easily takes the cake for the maximum single shot damage in its category. Along with that, it’s also better than other Linear Fusion Rifles in the burst damage category. Plus, its damage for reserves is pretty similar to the rest as well. Finally, it also has a weaker penalty for hitting the body compared to the head.

Performance of Sleeper Simulant in the game
With this recent buff, the performance of this Linear Fusion Rifle has drastically increased. Players can now compare the Sleeper Simulant against other great heavy options from weapon categories like Snipers and Shotguns. It’s DPS numbers are right up there with them, but Rocket Launchers and Slug Shotguns still perform better than it. However, that won’t be the case for long with these weapons receiving a nerf in Season 15. So within a month, fans can make a case for the Sleeper Simulant to be one of the meta weapons in Destiny 2.

It remains to be seen how the nerf will affect weapons like Anarchy and Slug Shotguns in Season 15. Bungie will most likely be harsh with them, so there’s a good chance that players will move to other weapons like Linear Fusion Rifles, and there’s nothing better from that category than the Sleeper Simulant.
