As the launch date nears, more and more changes made to Call Of Duty Black Ops Cold War have to light. From movement, weapons systems, combat, a lot of the mechanics have been upgraded. Now, game designer Tony Flame has announced yet another major change coming to the 2020 title.
He took to Twitter to announce the tweaks made to the bullet penetration mechanics in Black Ops Cold War. Flame said “Bullet Penetration will be consistent per weapon in Black Ops Cold War. While past titles had Attachments like FMJ, we found these to be inconsistent and unreadable on the receiving end. It’s solely class based: LMG’s have more penetration than AR’s which have more than SMG’s.”

Activision Reportedly Working on Anti-Cheat Software for Black Ops Cold War
This is excellent news. The gunsmith system in Modern Warfare and Warzone allows you to add certain attachments that will amp up the bullet penetration. This would mean that with certain attachments, an SMG would deal the same damage as an AR. This is a problem, and the change highlighted by Tony definitely fixes it for the upcoming title. This change was appreciated by everyone and is great news for the casual and competitive players alike.

This is great news for fans of the franchise. These changes may usually go overlooked, but they are extremely crucial in competitive scenarios. The Call of Duty League 2020 will now feel more balanced. The multiplayer reveal for Black Ops Cold War also introduced changes made to the Scorestreaks, the movement system, and weapons. For instance, sliding now ends with the player in a crouch position which makes it a little realistic. Jumping will slow down a momentarily after landing which is yet another step to make the combat experience close to real-life.
These changes made to the game highlight the fact that the developers have listened to the players’ queries. This only helps Activison’s cause even further, and will be extremely beneficial for the title during the launch.
