German Esports CS:GO Organization  Mousesports has had a very eventful year so far. The team finished as the second-best seed in late 2019 and early 2020. But things haven’t been the same since then.

ESL One Cologne was the first major tournament after the player break. And many expected Mousesports to dust the stain of falling down from 4th to 14th rank in a span of a few months. However, nothing of the sort happened. Subsequently, the team benched their star player Özgür “woxic” Eker for poor ‘in-game attitude’.

But the worst was yet to come. After a harrowing defeat to MAD Lions, Mousesports’ in-game leader Finn “karrigan” Andersen apparently uninstalled CS:GO.

CS:GO: Did he really uninstall the game?

It’s been a crazy ride for Mousesports ever since competitive Counter-Strike shifted to an online platform because of the ongoing pandemic.

The 30-year-old in-game leader deleted the game from his PC and even shared a video of him doing it. He titled that Twitter post as “Out of Cologne.”

This was after Mousesports’ embarrassing defeat against MAD Lions. The video ends abruptly, so we do not see him actually go through with the uninstallation.

Need for another substitute?

After finishing with a victory at ICE Challenge 2020, which was the first LAN tournament of the year, Mousesports has failed to perform at three consecutive events. These include DreamHack Masters Spring 2020: Europe, cs_summit 6 Online: Europe, and ESL One Cologne ESL One: Europe.

The organization’s Turkish player Özgür “woxic” Eker was benched recently. Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras, who was signed from FaZe Clan as a ‘development player’, now functions as the 5th player on the roster.

An in-game leader has the most impact on a team. He is responsible for the growth of the team and is a major link in the process of communication.

Does the recent development mean that karrigan will step down? His performance has hit rock-bottom with an overall rating of 0.62 at Cologne.

However, even if he went through with the uninstallation, it is unlikely to last for too long. Karrigan will surely install the game again, sooner rather than later.
