The legendary player of the United States of America, Andre Agassi takes the position in the team Grigor Dimitrov. The 8-time Grand Slam champion has flown to Paris to join the Bulgarian’s coaching team at this week’s Rolex Paris Masters in Bercy. He arrived in central Bercy on Sunday. He was there for a two-hour training with World Number one Rafael Nadal. Also, with Dimitrov along with his trainer Dani Vallverdu. The 48-year-old American spent the session talking to the player and his coach. For Agassi, a renewed commitment as a coach would be exciting. This year he served as a coach for Novak Djokovic and concluded his tenure with him in few months. His quote: “We agree that far too often we disagree.”

The 2018 season for the Bulgarian was dreadful. Dimitrov managed to reach one ATP Final at the ABN Amro Open in Rotterdam. However, he lost to Roger Federer in the Netherlands. Dimitrov was Nitto ATP Finals champion in London last year. The reigning champion would fail to qualify for the 2018 ATP Finals regardless of his achievement at the Rolex Paris Masters next week. His win-loss record traces to 23-18 this year. In addition to that, he lost o Mikhail Kukushkin at last week’s Erste Bank Open in Vienna. His three-set loss to Mikhail Kukushkin in Vienna was certainly dismaying for him and tournament organizers. In the year 2017, he held a 49-19 record with four titles and finished as the World Number 3 tennis player.

Agassi and Dimitrov were witnessed momentarily training together during the summer of 2018 in the US. Dani Vallverdu has been Dimitrov’s coach for more than two years now and he is taking care of the Bulgarian in Paris. The Bulgarian, Dimitrov currently ranked World Number 10 in the world. He would face either Steve Johnson or Roberto Bautista Agut in the second round after a first-round bye. Dimitrov would be leaving the top 20 rankings and is also expected to suffer dropping in the rankings even more places until January 2019.
