For fans unversed with his family, his son, Darren Baker plays for the Nationals organization.

During the Astros’ recent game against the Nationals, the two faced off against each other. Darren was able to get the upper hand on his dad in the most epic fashion and even sent his father a cheeky message.

Spring Training has brought fans excitement and some fantastic storylines in the lead-up to the 2023 MLB season. In a recent game between the Houston Astros and the Washington Nationals, a family showdown took place. Nationals Player Darren Baker faced off against his father and World-Series winning manager Dusty Baker. Although Darren has not played at the MLB level yet, he was able to get the upper hand in this Spring Training Showdown. In the top of the 9th inning, Darren hit a game-tying Grand Slam against the Astros. This helped his team win the game, following which he shared a cheeky message for his father on Twitter.

In a Tweet, he said, “Dinner on me tonight pops”. This was the ultimate moment as he secured a clutch hit that helped his team eventually win the game. Furthermore, he was also able to show his father some of his skills.
