The big four of Tennis has dominated the world of Tennis in an unprecedented way. Between the four of them – Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray stands 47 off the last 52 Grand Slams starting from the 2005 French Open to the 2018 Australian Open and an overall 286 Career titles. While the rivalry has been down to Federer and Nadal since 2017, the four still stand as one of the best Tennis players of the generation.

The fierce rivalry that they face on court, the four also share a good friendship off court. More than friendship, it has been respect between the four players that has ensured a fair play all the time.

While Federer and Nadal are showcasing an inspiring recover, Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic have struggled with their injuries. While Murray has been out, Djokovic has been participating, but failing miserably with form and confidence.

Djokovic was recently questioned about why he was never spotted with any of his rival off court, during the time he was sitting out, to which he replied that it doesn’t make sense to be friends with someone when so much is at stake in a match.

“We should first define what’s friendship,” Djokovic told Russian outlet Novosti.

“I think that the most important thing is that the relationship is fair and respectful.

“We play big matches with much money at stake in the biggest events because of this I don’t see enough space for an honest friendship.

“I think it’s enough for us to have a correct relationship and respect each other.”

“I never had issues with Roger,” Djokovic added.

“I feel maximum respect for him because he had a great influence on all of us and tennis in general.

“With (Rafael) Nadal and (Andy) Murray we are of the same generation, we grew up together and they helped me to get where I was.

“Anyway, I don’t hate anyone, the word “hate” is not in my vocabulary.”
