The DNA of Cristiano Ronaldo was found matching in the Las Vegas rape case on the Portugal superstar.

Ronaldo, in June, was told that he would not be facing any criminal charges on a rape case by former model turned teacher Kathryn Mayorga. But according to the latest reports, the verdict has a chance to be proven wrong.

The Sun reported that they obtained a bunch of leaked emails between police and prosecutors during the investigation, in which detective Jeffrey Guyer wrote: ‘DNA is back and is a match.’

It was also reported that the leaked emails show Ronaldo told his legal team Ms Mayorga had said ‘no’ and ‘stop.’

In her earlier allegations, Mayorga said that he begged her to perform a sex act on him. She refused but kissed him.

Mayorga claimed Ronaldo then started to “come on very strong”. She said: “He starts to do stuff and touch and grab me. I pushed him away and kept saying ‘No’.

“I turned away from him and curled up into a ball. That’s when he jumped on me. I said, ‘No, no, no, no.’

Earlier this year, Ronaldo was found accepting of paying Ms Mayorga an amount of $375,000 (£290,000) at the time she first made the accusations to police in order ‘to maintain the confidentiality of their dispute.’ Although she kept her silence initially, she later came out with allegations over the now Juventus forward, which however, could not be proved.

Ronaldo and his legal representatives have always denied the rape allegations. They pointed to a statement made by his US lawyer Peter Christiansen last year, when a warrant for his DNA was issued.

It said: “Mr Ronaldo has maintained that what occurred in Las Vegas in 2009 was consensual in nature, so it is not surprising that DNA would be present, nor that the police would make this very standard request as part of their investigation.”
