Dominic Thiem’s earlier relationship with Kristina Mladenovic

Earlier, Thiem was in a highly publicized relationship with women’s doubles star Kristina Mladenovic. The pair got together in 2017. Mladenovic was often seen in Thiem’s box and was present when Thiem had reached his first Grand Slam final at the 2018 French Open. The pair split in November 2019. Thiem indicated that they split as they couldn’t maintain the relationship in the rigorous tennis schedule.

Nicolas Massu on coaching Dominic Thiem

Thiem’s tennis partnership with coach Nicolas Massu is going very strong. Massu has been instrumental in Thiem’s rise to prominence on the ATP tour. Massu led Thiem to his first Grand Slam title at the 2020 US Open. And now Thiem finds himself ranked third in the ATP rankings, trailing just behind Rafa Nadal.

Massu has spoken greatly about Thiem. The Chilean coach has a fantastic relationship with his pupil and thus this bond has led to strong performances from Thiem.

“When you connect with a boy like Dominic who has the same feeling and trains with great intensity…you don’t have to say anything because he is giving his best version,”

“I knew that he would improve on hard courts with some minor tweaks to his game. But he is very receptive and always looking to improve. He is a very good guy, an example for all kids,”  Massu said.
