Donald Cerrone has been repeatedly questioned on his current condition, considering he has lost both of his last fights under two rounds. Cerrone lost against Tony Ferguson and suffered a first-round KO against Justin Gaethje. So, when the news came out that Donald Cerrone will square off against Conor McGregor in his octagon return, it didn’t go too well with other fighters in UFC.

There are only a few fighters in UFC, who can pull the crowd despite being in UFC for so long. These fighters have created fans from generations apart, and have become synonymous with fighting. It doesn’t happen often, and probably fighters like Brock Lesnar, Nate Diaz, and Conor McGregor have pulled it off. However, Donald Cerrone, despite delivering some of the greatest matches in UFC, and highest post-fight bonuses, has been unable to find that footing.

So it’s not like I got my ass kicked by nobody. Those who have beaten me are good. I have been in this sport for a long time, I deserve the respect I am getting. It’s cool to finally see Conor give it to me. Saturday night man, I plan to do everything right. What Cowboy shows, who the hell knows that but hope the baddest motherf*** shows up, that’s what I am hoping to man.”

Donald said during a recent media interaction in the lead up to UFC 246.

Many MMA fans went on to say that Conor has been offered a much easier match-up for his welterweight return. However, the truth is far from what has been speculated.
