The UFC and Donald Trump go way back. But it’s not just the UFC that he is fond of, Trump is a huge supporter of UFC president Dana White and the favor is returned in an equally supportive manner.
Keystone Corp. hosted a reception for President Trump as he made his way across the country. At this reception, Dana White and a host of the promotion’s top fighters were in attendance.
The fighters that were scheduled to make an appearance at this reception were UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington, interim UFC lightweight champion Justin Gaethje, and former bantamweight and flyweight champion Henry Cejudo. Even Ali Abdelaziz was a part of this troop.
Trump was very vocal about his love and appreciation for Dana White and elucidated this in his speech. He shared a story about the inception of the UFC and the role he played in helping set it up.
He praised White and his determined attitude that is to be credited for the position he is at today.
During his speech, Trump even called upon the UFC fighters in attendance and displayed his respect for them. Trump couldn’t miss Ali Abdelaziz of course! Making sure he pronounced his name right, Trump said, “Great guy! He is one of the best!”
The fighters made their support for Trump quite evident and have been vocal about it.
Taking to social media to post about their experience at the reception, they posed for a picture with Richard Grenell. Grenell posted this picture to his Twitter and captioned it “Let’s go” with the respective people tagged in it.
