“Don’t Know How She Stayed Positive”: Serena Williams in Awe of Victoria Azarenka

The 2020 American tennis events have seen something amazing – the comeback of Victoria Azarenka. The player began her winning momentum with the Cincinnati Open and continued her momentum into the US Open.

The Belarusian beat many top players and recently; she got her biggest win against Serena Williams. She had to fight from a set down, but in the end, she was the one who triumphed. Obviously, Serena was not happy about this loss, but she appreciated Azarenka’s comeback, saying,

“She’s had a lot of, I would say, downs in her career. She started on a lot of highs. I don’t know how she stayed positive, to be honest, so.. That’s a good lesson for all of us. No matter what, you just got to keep going. Hopefully, she keeps living her dream.”

Victoria Azarenka is in another final

After a very long time, Victoria Azarenka played another Grand Slam final. Her last one came way back in 2013, and during that time, she was one of the most dominating players. However, since then, she  had a bad run of form, but all that changed this year.

Fans are obviously delighted to see her play her best tennis again. Right now, they are looking forward to the 2020 US Open final. There, the Belarusian will face Naomi Osaka, who has also made a comeback after having a massive drop in form in 2019.

They both are two-time Grand Slam champions, and they both are keen to win this year’s US Open. However, Azarenka is almost nine years older than her and that means she has more experience. This will aid her during her match on the 12th of September and hopefully, she will end up lifting the title.
